In this day and age, we are all crunched for time.

Imagine this life scenario:

You work 8 to 12 hour work days 5 and sometimes 6 days each week, week in and week out. You are exhausted by the time you wake up! Sleep doesn't seem to be giving you that restful feeling you were hoping it would. You've built up such a tolerance to coffee; it doesn't even affect your energy levels anymore. You frown when you look into the full length mirror at the extra weight you have gained and how this makes you look in your clothes.


You mindlessly reach for your vending machine snack, while you type away during your lunch break, trying feverishly to finish your workload by the deadlines. No sunshine can be seen in the office and your pale skin hasn't seen real sunlight in quite some time.


After work, you sit in traffic for what seems an eternity, only to arrive home where there is more work to be done. Laundry is piled high, dishes need to be washed, and dinner needs to be made. You throw a frozen meal in the microwave, grab the remote control and head for the couch. You then proceed to spend the next few hours staring mindlessly into a square picture box, complaining that there's nothing ever on, or delighted that your favorite rerun of Friends or American Idol is safely stored in your Tivo's memory. After several hours of this œrelaxation you feel even more exhausted and head off to bed.


At night, you either toss and turn, unable to sleep right away, or fall immediately into an exhausted slumber where rest is minimal, despite your comfortable mattress and plush down comforter. The next morning the alarm goes off only to start the unfulfilling cycle over again.


The scenario detailed above may or may not describe your life. But, if there are even some similarities, you are probably involved in some sort of life pattern that is not currently bringing you to a state of balance and continual positive improvement.

The only way to break this pattern is to change your behavior.

If what you are currently doing is not leading to the best, most joyful life experience, it is time to try something new.
